Read a book that has won an award. There are many different awards for children's books, such as the Newbery Medal for best children's book, the Coretta Scott King award for an African American author, the Stonewall award for best children's book about the LGBTQ+ experience, the Belpre Medal for the best Latino/Latina author of an outstanding book about Latino culture, and the Sibert Medal for the best children's nonfiction book. If you aren't sure how to find an award-winning book, ask a librarian!
